June 29, 2016: The Ministry of National Security via its Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) continues to give priority to educating our citizens on the crime of Trafficking.

The CTU provided support funding for locally-produced feature film Trafficked, which created awareness of the inner workings of the international drug trade and of the vulnerability of the Caribbean region and its citizens in becoming involved in drug and human trafficking.

The film won best local feature film at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in 2015 and has been screened at several film festivals in North America and Europe.

Trafficked is currently being used as a training and public awareness tool by the Counter Trafficking Unit.

The Ministry of National Security will continue to lend support to citizens who seek to promote public education and awareness on issues, such as the crime of Trafficking, which affect us all as a nation.
