Minister of National Security participates in special CARICOM CONSLE meeting

Port of Spain: Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart R. Young M.P., yesterday, Friday 21 June, 2019, participated in the Sixth Special Meeting of the Council for National Security and Law Enforcement (CONSLE), held via Video Conference. 

Also representing Trinidad and Tobago at the meeting were Permanent Secretary, Ministry of National Security Mr. Vel Lewis and Deputy Director of the International Affairs Unit Major (Ret’d) Richard Lynch.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada and Chair of CONSLE, and was attended by Ministers with responsibility for National Security across CARICOM member states. 

Discussions centred on strengthening the cooperative framework for security in the Region, including optimising resource allocation and the regional response for mitigating potential threats. 

At the meeting, Trinidad and Tobago reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining regional security.
