Local female recording artiste, DeZii, will perform at the Firefly showcase held in Barbados on the 17th November 2018. Coordinated by The Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI), the regional showcase will open the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) workshop scheduled on the 19th-20th November 2018.
DeZii is currently a member for MusicTT’s very first Artist Portfolio Development Programme (APDP) cohort and is a registered Live Music District (LMD) artiste. She is a singer/songwriter who has sung in competitions such as Digicel Rising Stars and Party Flava. DEZii is versatile; her repertoire is a blend of R&B, reggae, pop, EDM & jazz music. She has been performing for many years, gracing stages in Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, Los Angeles and, most recently, Canada; where she represented Trinidad and Tobago at the inaugural Canadian Caribbean Soul Exchange Forum held in Winnipeg Canada.
“MusicTT is proud to have one of our very own APDP artistes selected for the showcase,” says Melissa Jimenez, General Manager of MusicTT. “Opportunities like these are fundamental in ensuring that our local talent gets the recognition and exposure it deserves. MusicTT will continue to develop the industry by supporting artistes through our various programmes and create or facilitate opportunities for growth locally, regionally and internationally.”
The Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI), in partnership with Caribbean Export, will celebrate Services Weekend in Barbados with the Firefly event showcasing up and coming singers, designers, and artists from across the Caribbean. Each will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent through a fashion show, live musical performance or exhibition.
DeZii will perform a five-minute set with a live band at the showcase.
