The Ministry of Works and Transport is aware of the landslide on the Naparima-Mayaro Road in the vicinity of Agustini Village which occurred recently, and wishes to advise the public that the Ministry will be conducting temporary repair works in the area to ensure that the road remains passable.
The Ministry wishes to advise further that the designs and tender documents for permanent repairs were completed by the Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiently (PURE) Unit of the Ministry, and it is anticipated that construction work will commence by the end of February, 2018.
Motorists are advised to proceed with caution in this vicinity in the interim. The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
