October 26, 2017: The Minister of Finance, the Hon. Colm Imbert, is extending a public invitation to meet with all of the owners and/or shareholders and/or directors of private members’ clubs and other similar business establishments that engage in casino-type gambling, to discuss the taxation of gambling tables and gambling devices.
This meeting is considered necessary because taxation of gambling tables and devices is imposed on the owners of gambling establishments and not on the employees of these organizations.
All owners, shareholders and directors of these organizations are therefore asked to indicate their willingness as soon as possible to attend a meeting with the Minister of Finance by calling the Corporate Communications Unit of the Ministry of Finance at 612-9700 exts. 2804 or 2805 or by emailing comm.finance@gov.tt.
The meeting will be held at the Eric Williams Financial Complex at a date and time to be determined.
